The RFA7 accessory utilizes a collimated infrared beam that impinges on the sample at a fixed 7° angle of incidence. The beam diameter at the sample position is approximately 10 mm.
This accessory is designed for reflectance measurements of glass in accordance with ASTM Standard E1585-93, as well as other specular reflectance applications.
The RFA7 is well suited for specular reflectance studies of polymers, reflectivity characterization of polished metal surfaces, and combined transmission–reflection measurements.
